I just removed the main folder to ssd c: and create a new desktop icon and kept the old ssd including steam file just to test. SInce it worked out so easily i decided to delete the old files and removed ssd after formatting it. I hope that was ok.
- Did you use Steam move feature within Steam?
- Did you cut & paste / drag & drop "Steam" folder to the other drive?
- Did you moved only "common" thinking that all you needed, and made that bad mistake, and deleted the folder that has the important app manifest files to informing the client what installed?
I moved games from that old ssd within steam feature to remove to another ssd. After all games removing i just moved the whole file to main ssd (c:) and tested by just disconnecting the old ssd and it works.
Where can i check if i have the app manifest files too? Steam works out fine for now and i already shut the computer down and started it again and started steam and now i play The Hunter without any problems.
If everything fine as it should be then there no problem. So is this about shortcut on Steam not working? If yes you have to replace your shortcut or edit it to target the steam.exe in it new location.
The shortcut on desktop refers to old ssd. Changing it to c: worked out.
