Steam won't let me change region at check out

I moved from Canada to the US and I am trying to check out an item with my US credit card in order to change my store location, but Steam won't let me.

It says that I have to use a US billing address but the fields only let me enter Canadian addresses and when I try to change it, it says "there was a problem changing your region, try again later".

Steam support says that they cannot help me. What do I do?
