Have you try this?
https://www.reddit.com/r/windows7/comments/13uqklx/ubisoft_connect_uplay_upcexe_entry_point/
And thanks again !
Just to mention here for anyone that might read this discussion in the future that :
- In the txt file you should write the current oldest version (i.e. now it is : 10887) . You can find the versions in the above link .
- There are two options to avoid later the next released Ubisoft version to take over the current version (and once again become unable to play the games) :
+ when Ubisoft will start downloading the newest version , stop it (with the X button) , go to the webpage above , see which is the number of the newest version , recreate the txt file and replace it again .
+ or through your Firewall (I use Norton , but the original Win7 firewall will also do the trick ; afterall even Norton will stop working on Win7) to block upc.exe to connect to the internet . In Norton , simply type "Ubisoft" in the Programs section and it will find you directly the 4 correspondent Ubisoft exe files (only upc.exe should be blocked) .
Thx.... Now it's 10894 for july version. And it's better to use google for latest version! Search google: "ubisoft connect latest version".
for now - 10933. *Update 14.09.2023*
And when you see the new update you can check the number of new version in there:
ProgramData\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\patch\
Where exactly is this? I have AppData\Local\Ubisoft Game Launcher
But there's no patch. Only two files, settings.yaml and user.dat file!
- Install the old version : 140-0-10857 .
- After installation close the dialog box by which Ubisoft try to download the update .
- Do NOT yet disable (with Norton or other software) upc.exe to connect to the internet .
- Do these :
+ open a new notepad file
+ type the number of the latest version (i.e. : 10872) .
You can see the latest version (it's the last number of the version) here :
https://uplay.en.uptodown.com/windows/versions
For example , from the file "142.2.0.10887" the version is : 10887 .
+ save the file on Desktop by using the name : as version.txt
+ move the above file to replace the file here :
C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher
(don't try to directly save and ovewrite the existing file , because it won't happen) .
- Start Ubisfot and :
+ fill in the name and password
+ activate the Remember Me check box .
+ Press Log in .
- If you have previously activated the "2-step Verification" (which is good to do) , in the next dialog box :
+ insert the verification code from your e-mail
+ check : This is a trusted device
+ press Continue .
- Install and initiate (start at least once) every game .
- There are two options to avoid later the next releashed Ubisoft version to take over the current version
(and once again become unable to play the games) :
+ when Ubisoft will start downloading the newest version , stop it (with the X button) , go to the webpage above ,
see which is the number of the newest version , recreate the txt file and replace it again .
+ through Norton : block upc.exe to connect to the internet .
-> From Norton go : Norton 360 > Settings > Firewall > Program control > Wait for a while (the list could be huge to load) .
-> In the text box for searching programs , write "Uplay" and press Enter .
-> There should be found 4 Uplay programs in total (beyond any Far Cry games etc) .
Leave them all as : Allow .
But to the last one (upc.exe) set it to : Block .
Press the Apply button .
-> Start Uplay (with Ubisoft Connect icon) and press the button : Go offline .
Step 2) Look at Step 1
No matter what , however , it's everyone's right to try keep playing on Win7 regardless if you don't agree with Win7 .
I downloaded the original version from April 14, as it was said, everything works fine. There appeared a certain chip that the version is written 114.1.9803.0 and not as usual for example 142.2.0.10887, I managed to find out just by downloading the update and looking at which version is in the ubisoft connect folder.
the version provided by " INFERNAL " 10933 is still working and i've managed to open the luncher without asking me for an update , however when i try log in my account it says " A ubisoft service is currently unavailable. Please try again Later "
did i do something wrong ?
