Failure: No licenses error when launching the game

Hey there, received Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2019 as a gift from a friend today. Got it installed, but whenever I try to play, I get this error message: "Failure. No licenses". That's the end of the road. Checked the integrity of the files, rebooted Steam, did all the usual stuff - still no luck.

Anyone had this issue before? Any ideas on how to fix it?

Are you sure it is on your account? I don't see it in your games list.

Are you sure it is on your account? I don't see it in your games list.

Yeah its on different account. And I’m trying to play from it but got this error

Log into the account you got the game on.

None of the "newer" CoD titles can be shared. They all require an Activision account too.

Log into the account you got the game on.

guys im just writing from different account. I have this problem on another acc. No family sharing or something

Make sure the Activision account is linked to the Steam account in question.

guys i got gta from a eneba reseller and i activated the key in my rockstar account
but when i press the play on steam it opens steam and says "Failure no lisence"

I got battle bit remastered and in my library it says purchase an don the library it has the option to buy it but it also says I own it and has an option to play so I click it and it comes up with the e no license error

I have the same error . Like there is no button for add to library . There is only "play game" and whenever i hit that button error comes.

I have been trying to launch modern warfare from the mw3 launcher thing and I get the same error too. Even though I’m pretty sure it came with the damn game when I got it (I got MW2 not MW3, it just boots all the games from there)🫥

You have to pay for MWIII just like you paid for MWII. MWIII isn't a free game.
