How do I completely uninstall steam?
I'm talking about the files that still remain even after the uninstillation. Where are they and is there an easier way to get rid of them all?

On Windows systems the Steam Client's default location is
C:\Program Files (x86)\ delete the Steam folder.

Uninstalling the Client does not do anything with any game or software files you might have. Your game files will still be on your hard drive(s) where you had them if you had one somewhere outside of the Steam folder above.

Game files don't get deleted from running the Uninstall process but, right, the games won't run without Steam Client.

I thought the game files would definately stay on the PC even if you uninstall steam but yes i knew they wouldnt work, unless you downloaded the games without steam then you can play :)

Some people get it and laugh at it, others hate it and report me every time I participate on the forums.

heheh
If you uninstall steam it deletes everything in the folders where steam was installed in.
People lost other files if they installed steam on desktop for example, and then uninstalled it.

So as long as this didnt change, steam will delete all games in its folders if you uninstall steam

You can move your game files only by copy/pasting the folders or there's an option to move each game individually (which will take longer and is more tedious) by Right-Clicking each game > Properties > Installed Files and clicking on the "Move Install Folder" button.

Moderators are probably going to lock this post now due to its age.
1TB doesnt cut it now for steam games what with games taking up 40GB, 50gb 70GB of space per game unless you go for the smaller games at 4GB-6GB

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
