Can't re-upload screenshots
In general, I uploaded screenshots to Steam Cloud, then deleted them from there. Now I want to re-upload them, but the screenshot manager for some reason does not recognize them. Please note that they are present on the computer in the screenshots folder of the game. Please help to deal with this problem.

Go to this folder on your hard drive:
:\Steam\userdata\[some number]\760.

Search for a file named: screenshots.vdf, copy and paste this file, and then delete the original screenshots.vdf, and then restart Steam. (You make a copy of screenshots.vdf, just in case I screwed up.)
After Steam is restarted, start a game (and make a new screenshot.)

That should re-populate screenshots.vdf, and fix the issue.
If you have 8000 screenshots, re-populating may take some time...
After re-population is complete, restart Steam a second time.

If all is well, you should now have your deleted screenshots back in the client.

The new screenshot manager is full of bugs. Lets hope it gets patched next update.
Many people are experiencing the same problems with it.

I don't know anything about uploading screenshots to the cloud or whether the old UI's screenshot dialog accesses the cloud but I do know that the old UI's screenshot dialog works. If you'd like to use the old UI follow these instructions to use the old UI and disable automatic updates.

Hopefully they'll have the new UI working soon.

Thank you very much, your method helped. After deleting the file and turning off Steam, when it was started, this file was created again and the screenshot manager re-read all the screenshots on the computer.

The OP means copy it and paste it anywhere to make a backup.

Thank you for this, your guide worked flawlessly and solved the issues I had with the screenshots not loading in the manager. I now finally see my screenshots on every game page in the Steam client.

Nearly a year later this is still helping. Amazing Valve hasn't fixed this. Well, at the rate things (don't) get fixed on Steam, not amazing at all.
