Back/Forward mouse buttons no longer work?

I noticed that ever since the new UI update, the back/forward buttons on my mouse that usually let me go back/forward on a webpage no longer work. They work just fine if I open the steam forums in my actual web browser, but in the Steam client itself they just make the page reload.

Try shutting down the client and restarting, there's bugfixes being created and restarting the client will update to the newest version.

So the back/forward buttons were broken, but they were fixed in an update I believe which is why they work for me now I believe.

Test with other mouse, my scroll did exatly that, a mouse that start show signs of decay. problem is work sometimes fine. ( hardest to ID until you test with new mouse ) could be alot easier to ID, if it dont work at all. ( i call it middle scroll or wheel scroll not back and forward its use so many places in map and menu. ) so up and down and side even depend on mouse/model type i bet.


back and foreward button is driver issue or mouse button is defect now, it work on mine.
thats windows driver issue or that Brand mouse support problem.

mouse is not so simple anymore, they have come along way from ball and 2-3 button only.

best advice i can give you buy a extra mouse then you see it as cheap offer, because then a mouse go burnout or show signs of issue they dont show and tell system that it stuggle with system. i mean lag in scoll game look like cpu issue deal with map content ask any IT dude they will say that.

Not just the mouse buttons that are temperamental the back/forward buttons at the Top-Left are the same.

Try clearing your "Download Cache." Note doing this will cause your Steam account password to be forgotten, so you will need to enter your account name/password the next time you try to login.

Great, so we probably can't hold our breath to this being fixed anytime soon if ever...

yep broken on new client, sometimse spamming it mega fast like 10 times gets it going, not always. And yea also pressing the menu back button has random effects, nothing consistent at all like previous steam client. Working fine on steam on web though (on chrome)

You give wrong advice yet again. This is a Steam Client issue not user issue.

It's still extra buggy. Fix this because now client is unusable, browser version works great. Sometimes when I press "back button" it takes me back two pages instead of one

mines also stopped working on steam, but work fine on epic/discord , just not on steam games

I meant the Steam client itself no longer properly works with the back/forward buttons, not the games.
