Are steam games virus free?
Are games you purchase on steam guaranteed to be virus free? My antivirus flags one of my games as a possible virus. I don't know if it is safe to play the game or if I should get a refund? The game is Amaze lunar. Thank you!

Yup, the games are safe. What's the name of the malware? Something in the lines of "heur" or "gen"?

Says it's ti! something something?
Anyways, Steam Valve scans all games that developers create prior to being published and there is also a clause of compliance that developers need to sign pertaining criminal activity and consequence.

Some antivirus will flag game files. Norton used to do this a lot to me, almost 1 out of every 3 - 5 games or so would be flagged.

You sounded like it meant something to you. Just wanted to know why it was expected. Does that mean heur and gen are bad?

It means "heuristic" and "generic", which is semantically related to the topic of false-positives.
To make a mountain out of a mole hill  :p

How about false-negatives? :citizensurprised:

False negatives are certainly possible. Which is what happens when a virus compromises a system and is not detected by the anti virus. That is a false-negative.
