Steam client doesn't start, keeps restarting.
I really need help with this issue I'm having. Steam just stopped working all of a sudden about 3 weeks ago. Tray icon is there but won't open. I have to open task manager and kill steam (32 bit) process. When I restart it, the Steam window just flashed for a split second and crashes. Does this about 6 or 7 times and gives me the windows about steamwebhelper not responding. Sometimes it starts and crashes continuously. Sometimes after restarting the PC it will run just fine for a while and crash again. When it does come up, crashes immediately when I click on settings in the steam menu.

What I've tried:
Fresh Windows 11 installation.
Fresh Windows 10 installation.
BIOS update.
Latest G-force driver.
ALL the suggestions on the internet.

NOTHING WORKS!

See it here: https://youtu.be/KjqnhgdDvCE

In the meantime, all my other gaming platforms works just fine, GOG, Origin, Epic Games etc etc.

If someone has a suggestion, I would really appreciate it.

3 weeks ago , aient it there with apox new steam GUI depend on when you get online and get the update, that mean bitdefender ans skin was a issue for some steam user, you need to whitelist app in anitivirus app, that included steamwebhelper.exe and steam.exe.

Almost the same issue here, except I do not get as far as the window. I only get to the updates screen. I have opened a ticket but so far they have told me to simply reinstall steam and whitelist it in antivirus, both of which have been done already but the issues persists.
UPDATE:
I managed to fix the issue by uninstalling steam and reinstalling it to a different drive. I have no idea if this will work for anyone else but it was something I had not tried.

Try old system guide, do not delete steam , rename it to steam.old folder now you have backup, then reinstal new steam at default , then move thing in then you notice all the thing missing

icon, game lib, screenshort steam user data ( some game has save game there ) and other things like collection and, again there are things not in cloud, so desktop icon and oand things down that road, dont forgert old steam user guide do not change they focus on get steam, up again not lost data, because back then it was just a game launcher, user things and change through time, and experience user know never delete untill you know all seem ok at freshly install version. ( your job to have backup of all files ) no matter if we say format you OS and start over, that was common way back in the old days, seem new generation of ppl just think wipe of data and uninstall steam is a solution, its not.

then you have many games you will try avoid wipe all DL games, thats why many of us dont have uninstall steam as a choise, that option is gone.

i did not say you dont know this, or have build pc the right way with game disk and such , but we cant mind read here.

a fresh steam install is seen as, if that dotn work with whatever steam now see as default steam then make ticket. ( if you are experience user then you know what this is same BS then a mod cause issue with game now after a update )

if this is over your head then i cant help you, this what user have learn over the many years with game and test as default, same as spare pc test, if it work there then you have a issue on other pc. ( and it dont matter if this is a no GPU accelration in steam client, atm all user have could enter setting nad change this so client work,

Note to OP run as adminstrator at steam.exe is not a new thing, what and how you have lost that in the system setting i dont know, its like you have raise the security of something trigger this.

if you have bitdefender or avast, let me be hard here , any security other then windows defender then say so.

you should know then you work with IT, i have seen alot of things that should work that dont work as intended, that mean i will never trust anything made by anyone or even made by me or system change a setting and reset my change, seen it all. thats the diffrence by work with something then its way more common then just be a standard pro user.

im not better then other, its just experience with how to deal or recheck things, even IT company do this send a fresh eye on the case as we say today.

as a pro gamer, you have a pc where you can reset OS asap, and recover back to play games within 24hours, if we talk total wipe, most do reset OS choise within windows today.

and plz make sure you know DISM and SFC and check disk before you do such.
if that is news to you then google how to do, this reply is made so you never forget to do such first, and maybe so you never forget it ever again.

other helper i bet will agree, then you learn such chance user will remember such until next time, there is a issue. ( things you should have done before even posted, you will understand this then you learn such. )

and maybe you do know but forgot it, thats my point here, even system restore most laptop user know this, desktop user forget this.

I have not time this, because old say reinstall of os was on dvd media , today reset a os is much faster though its options and depend on hardware and pc build with multi disk, then you arte up and running under 3 hours maybe faster, its all depend on how you have done it, even image restore, can do this faster a snap of windows with what you call a default system is possible to make, ( such ways are learn by VM machine ) so things has change our ways in how to reset or start over asap. )

and whatever it is look like interference issue with steam, its here i dont agree a security app is not interference, thats a problem you need to deal with.

OP has a issue
Fresh Windows 11 installation.
Fresh Windows 10 installation.

that mean after this, hes steam has a issue with what has change.

google steam flush cmd,m maybe other then that, its from here with what user change with steam, sense steam wont start as default.

and why try test as it was never installed, and why rename steam to steam.old might be best choise to see if a freshly steam install actual work.

as i said you need to be experience gamer that know how things can cause issue then user content aient accept anymore just like a mod issue in game.

gl with it OP

Did you find a fix for this??

Found this solution in an older thread that worked for me, same exact issue

To fix this simply do this:

1) Go to Steam Folder and select Folder "tenfoot"

2) Move Folder "tenfoot" to Desktop or elsewhere ((I just deleted it))

3) Start Steam and Steam Client will start downloading update Once steam download Client Update and installed. You will see that your Steam Client is updated and your problem solved.
