Moving games to save space but apps still on C Drive

I need to move games to an external drive to save space on C Drive. I've use the Game/Properties/Move option to move the games over to the ext drive. However, C drive is still full and when I open Add and Remove Apps I can see lots of games in the list, although there isnt a file size next to it. I uninstalled a game as a test and it made space and also uninstalled it from the Steam game list in the Steam app. I'm very confused.

Two things to note regarding workshop content if you have subscribed to any.

1) When you move a game it only moves the "actual game". It does not move any workshop content for that game. That space is still being taken up by workshop content.

2) When you uninstall a game it only uninstalls the "actual game". It does not uninstall any workshop content for that game. That space is still being taken up by workshop content.

To uninstall workshop content you have to unsubscribe from it BUT first make sure you have "favourited" the workshop content so you can find it again. When you subscribe to it again it will download to the correct drive where the game is installed.

And finally Windows Add, Remove only knows about the "actual game install" and not about additional workshop content (mods) which are added after a game is installed.
