A bunch of my items were sold without me knowing
So basically I went to work today (July 11th 2023) and when I came back I saw I had 30$ on my wallet, so I though I bought my game twice by accident and it just declined and went on my wallet instead so I checked the purchase history.
First thing up top I saw was 255 market listings...
I don't understand how it happened, I have steam guard so I should be notified, but when I checked, I had a name tag from TF2 on the confirmation list and THATS IT.
What's weird is that theres some relatively pricey items that weren't sold like a red weapon from csgo or australium from tf2 some 40$ stuff but those weren't sold, nothing really changed on my account except that when I went online on Steam (where I'm currently writing this) everything was in chinese according to google translate.
My guess is that steam isn't gonna help me get my items back cause that would cause them a lot of trouble but I don't really know what to make of this. How am I supposed to trust the 2FA if it doesn't even ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ work???
I already updated my password and disconnected all users from my steam account but if they can do it once and bypass my 2FA I don't see what's stopping them from doing it again..

Oh and I just checked and for some reason there were items from games I've never played a single second of like total war or talos principle, dota 2.

Just checked again through the 255 pages of market, seems the person bought 1 dollar items and sold them back for 1 cent... really cool and literally EVERY item that was in the steam category in the inventory is gone and were sold for like 1 to 6 cents each...

Once again... I discovered something new... It happened the 8th of july while i was working and i had one cent left over, i remember seeing it but didnt think anything of it. In the two times the chinese hacker did this a total of 1440 listings were made overall (including listings created, listings cancelled, listings that got sold and listings the hacker bought with my account)

Change the mail id that is connected with the account and also add Steam guard. If possible check some youtube videos and change API Key, for some time stop trading on 3rd party websites.

Might resolve the issue.

Hijacked, not hacked. You leaked your account credentials somehow.

Do not trade until your account is secured.

Take the following steps to secure your account:

1. Scan for malware. https://www.malwarebytes.com/
2. Check that the email and phone number on the Steam account are still yours.
3. Deauthorize all other devices. https://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage
4. Change passwords from a clean computer.
5. Generate new backup codes for your Mobile App. https://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage
6. Revoke the API key (there should be no key). https://steamcommunity.com/dev/apikey

Steam does not return inventory items or wallet funds: https://help.steampowered.com/faqs/view/3B6E-B322-2400-8D24
