Validating and patching loop

i have been trying to update my squad game for probably months now but ive just let it go unnoticed as i havent wanted to paly the game for a while.

but now that im wanting to play the game i am realising that i am stuck in a validation loop.

the game validates until about 98% then begins patching at 66% then says stopping download and proceeds to restart the validating process.

is there any way to fix this without uninstalling and reinstalling the game?

i have tried clearing download cache, changin download region, restarting steam as administrator.

just cant really be bothered uninstalling and reinstalling the game.

I am running into this issue for the 2nd time on a patch install for DCS. About 2 weeks ago, I had the same issue with Autombilista 2. After not being able to resolve it for Automobilista 2, I reinstalled the whole title. However, DCS is 243.8 GB and I certainly don't want to have to reinstall it if it can be avoided.

The one thing these two titles have in common is that they are installed on a 2nd internal hard drive (D:) whereas Stream is installed on my primary hard drive (C:). This may or may not be related as these two titles along with a number of others have been on this 2nd hard drive for well over a year and successfully received updates in the past.

Anyone know of a solution?
