Did all that multiple times. But it does it across all devices, windows 10 or 11 and browser not running VPN, hooked up to spectrum ISP.
Ive tried two different people with their chat bot just now. Pretty much no help. I linked them this discussion.
The android app, and the steam app, and website on PC once logged in, give this error, across everything connected to Spectrums ISP. Verizon Hot Spot, or Internet, VPNs or similar features on browsers do not have this issue.
All caches cleared via steam, browser, cookies, temp files, SSL cleared, DNS flushed etc. Host file renamed, re created etc. Steam reinstalled with other browsers etc
If you guys are on Spectrum ISP and still having this issue across everything using Spectrum and tried all the other "fixes"....
Please create a ticket with Spectrum or go through the chat people and make them create the ticket for you so they can escalate it. I gave them a link to this thread specifically as well but I doubt theyll look.
Clearing the SSL State has worked for me so far. Haven't seen error 107 yet. Not entirely sure why nobody has had success, perhaps i did something else that they haven't.
Extra info: I have spectrum. I use windows firewall and antivirus (no third party security software).
4 things seems to be likely and also need to be purged to a fresh state.
1. DNS
2. Cache and cookies in both the steam app and chrome
3. Resetting the modem and rebooting the router
4. The SSL State
Do note i also use advanced system care after i did 1-3. Which cleared out junk files, Cookies, and cleaned up the registry. I doubt it made a difference but ya never know. If you have ASC or something like it like CCleaner, i would run that after purging 1-3. then clear SSL state and then reboot PC.
Really bizarre. I'd like to think it was a Steam issue, but the fact that the problem is still happening for some of you guys is making me skeptical.
Error 107 popped up again for me lmao.
Anyways i took a roundabout look at this and ended up taking a look at MS edge. Since i already purged chrome it wouldn't have been that.
Anyways long story short, i found a setting in Edge that got rid of error 107 (for now).
Step 1: Open up Edge
Step 2: To the right of sign in (top right) you will see the 3 dots. Click on that and open "settings".
Step 3: In the menu on the left side click on "Privacy, search, and services".
Step 4: Scroll down until you find "Use secure DNS to specify how to lookup the network address for websites" and under that click on "choose a service provider". Clicking on the empty bar will bring up a few options, look for "Google (public DNS)". Select it and exit Edge.
After doing this remember to shut down the steam app and relaunch.
Hopefully this solves some peoples problems. I'll update my OP with a mention to this post.
Thats sound like ISP DNS server has issue with its record , because its inharit from google DNS tree.
tell your ISP this.
do know all in the world cant use google DNS server , they server will drop you, no ISP in the world can feed all of us this is why use own ISP DNS is seen as spreedout the request.
ask any network technicain they know this , and so should your ISP.
in old days user could choise diffrent ISP DNS server maybe that can help if all is on same ask ISP for alternative DNS server or use alternative DNS server as Main.
gl with it.
