Keep getting Error: -107 last couple days. (Updated Again)
(Update: May have found the solution, Go to post #19 on the second page.)

(Update 2: Found another solution, Go to post #59 on Page 4.)

First time this has ever happened.

So far i have tried...

Restarted PC (multiple times lol)
Ran Advanced System Care to clean up some stuff
Flushed DNS via CMD
Cleared cache and history in both steam and chrome
Signed out of steam and logged back in
Turning steam off and on again
Checked if it was maybe being somehow blocked by firewall (no... it was not)
Reset modem and restarted router and which all settings are set to auto (no manual settings)
Turned date and time auto off and on

I'm on latest windows 10 update and all drivers are current. Hardware is 5800x3d, 32gb ram, NVME gen 4, and 4090. Nothing is overclocked.

I cannot access steam store via google chrome, MS Edge, or the steam App. However i can access the store via Opera, Opera GX, and Mozilla Firefox.

The error i receive from Chrome and Edge is "The connection for this site is not secure" and "ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR".

I'm at a loss. Any help would be appreciated.

Try google dns server 8.8.4.4 , stay away from 8.8.8.8 sense all remember that one.

( The connection for this site is not secure" and "ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR". )
why you have this issue, then Https is always on.

are you on company line or VPN by a mistake ?

Try reboot router first and pc 3 minute after and see if thats the problem.
you can avoid alot of trouble shooting that way. if it works.

its bedtime for me now, other that want to help plz do so.

Can confirm this issue is occurring intermittently on both a Linux PC (Brave, Firefox and Steam itself) and Android phone (Brave, both wifi and mobile internet) for past few days. Rebooting, clearing cache, changing DNS do not fix it. Steam store is the ONLY site with this issue (even community works fine).

Region? ISP?

I've got the same issue here as well, except now I cant connect via mobile/deck/browser or the steam client. I also have tried all that the OP did and still no results. I have spectrum btw I'm a little bit at wits end and bouts to give up
Same issue. I'm not having problems anywhere else but the Steam store keeps giving me the 107 error. I have Spectrum, too, so I'm guessing it could be a problem on their end? I've seen a few other people complaining about this, and a couple of them mentioned they have Spec as well.

Steam Error Code 107 Causes
The Steam Error Code 107 can be caused by various factors. Here are some of the common reasons behind this error:

Issues With Internet Connection: Unstable or poor internet connection can often lead to the Steam Error Code 107. If you are experiencing problems with your internet connection, it may be the root cause of the error.

Limited App Permissions: Steam may not have sufficient permissions to browse the web, resulting in Error Code 107. In such cases, granting the necessary permissions to the Steam application can resolve the issue.

Corrupted DNS Cache: DNS cache files, which help improve user experience, can sometimes become corrupted and cause problems. If the DNS cache files are corrupted, it can trigger Error Code 107 while using Steam's built-in browser.

Faulty Firewall Settings: Windows firewall settings can occasionally mark certain functions as suspicious and block access, leading to the Steam Error Code 107. Adjusting the firewall settings to allow Steam to load web pages can help resolve the issue.

By identifying the specific cause of the Steam Error Code 107, you can take the appropriate steps to fix the error and continue using Steam without any disruptions.

Something to try maybe:

Tried this to no avail, I dont have steam listed in the host file like in the vid

That's boilerplate for literally any internet issue. The kinda stuff that populates "fake" websites which exist purely to popup on search engine results and serves a bunch of ads before the user can see it's all useless.
Young Toguro Jul 7, 2023 @ 12:23pm
So, would this be like a server side steam issue? I've kinda exhausted a bunch of fixes and posts that go back like 9 years. I'd just feel better if it was just a wait and see situation and not a something on my end got borked

EDIT: Actually I dunno why I didnt do this before, I have found out that using my phones hot-spot works and connects flawlessly no error or anything. So I'm not sure whats going on but I guess it might be an ISP issue because when I go back to home network steam is inaccessible

The only common thread I've seen so far is that everyone reporting the issue (including myself) currently use Spectrum as our ISP, so this may be something that has to be discussed with Spectrum directly. I'm at the point where even the mobile app has trouble getting through to the store, but it's ONLY the store page that has this issue. Going to see about submitting a ticket to Valve.

I was reading some similar situations of spectrum oddly blocking other websites, the issue seems to resolve itself in a couple of days, I just know my luck as soon as its working correctly the sale will be over :( but I guess I could use 5G for the time being

Just a quick comment from me: I've also been having the store error 107 issue for the past few days and my ISP is Spectrum. I can occasionally get through to the store page on the website but that's about it and all the usual suggestions (reinstall steam, flush dns, blah blah blah) didn't work.
Young Toguro Jul 7, 2023 @ 12:52pm
So, I tried contacting spectrum, however all they did was reset the modem

TraceRT into www.steampowered.com that is well know for network technicain and how to track or cant get through to something. ( all this is part of network trouble shooting network ) and why DNS might or been blooked or ISP DNS record is a bug, do note ipv6 can do same if ISP use it now and you dont then its know as segmented network.

Rule is if own ISP use it then you need it. and turn it off is equal bad if it work without it ask own ISP stop screw up network protocol, ipv4 adr run out years ago soon casn be seen as never turn it off because if you do next ISP switch could use it and then nothing works you split own pc and network to slove things you have removed.

or make big fat 3m poster its been remove with duct tape so it dont fall of by mistake.

well im sure you know what im saying here, time goes by and you forget you did this.

all this sitll look like steam famous event sale , and ISP into steam is conggested, problem is proof it steam or ISP that cant keep up. ask both support, here that steam support and ISP someone has a issue here, and its same as always hard to proof other then its same on every steam sale.
