Steam settings is greyed out on my computer
just a bit of background info first. So i made a steam library folder on an external hard drive before I knew that I had a second internal drive and then the latest steam client update came along the next day and I can't make any more steam library folders or open steam settings. I really don't know what to do here. Any help would be appreciated!

There's your answer. Exit Family View to enter the Settings.
For obvious reasons the Settings screen is disabled when Family View is enabled.

Do you have Family View turned on?

Turn it off to be able to use/change settings. That's part of what Family View protects.

Didnt work for me. Ive exited family view 4 different times, entered pin each time and on the family tab on my mobile device it says not in family view, however, no joy AT ALL.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
