Steam Deck gift
Looking to get my wife a SD while they are on sale since she has been wanting one. I'd also like to get a few games that's she's been eyeing but she currently doesnt have a steam account. I'm assuming that any games I purchase either have to remain on my account or gifted to currently activated friend members and not have a Steam Key generated where I can gift at a later date...

So what's the best way to approach this? I can create her a Steam account and just do the purchases there but would like to keep this a surprise until our anniversary in a few months so so can have time to mod it, upgrade SSD, etc to her liking.

Open to whatever works here. TIA!

Just get the Deck from your account. It is not bound to the account. The warranty can transfer to her when you provide your receipt, if any issues arise or you could just do it from your account.

To send game gifts, she will need an account for you to send her games and you can schedule a date for them to be sent.

Yea, that's what I was going to do with the deck and what I figured with the games. Might just make her a temp email for steam and make an account and get a small selection in there for her and change the email to her main email later if she wants to/if possible.

She needs to setup her own account. Accounts can get in trouble if supports suspects someone else created the account.
