Steam keeps closing and reopening by itself pls help

i usually just let steam run in background since summer sale my steam just keep closing and reopening by itself

Did anything change on your side? A new programm?

i'd like for it not to run at all as soon as I open the laptop, how do I do that??

the only thing have i done to my pc since is moving all my steam From :/C To other disk.

there is old discussion about the same problem i have and no one have the answered and discussion have been closed

Then try what happens if you make it like before. Maybe something went wrong.
And make a new shortcut for the steam exe.

the funny thing is it does not happen since i make this thread

the only thing i do is let all game that need update to download

maybe some game is half way updated but i stopped it midway and it bugging steam

You might want to look into windows event viewer why steam.exe crash.

hmm 2 things add steam.exe to whitelist steam in antivirus app, just to make sure its not AV app that block it.

Also run steam.exe one time as administrator so update or whatever its is sense it has worked before.

if first 2 step dont help rename steam.old to steam.exe and see if that can retrigger a update.

other option reclick
D:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\bin\steamservice.exe

and why you have lost service i dont know, only fiddle with steam service in service can do this, afaik. ( i did not say you did it, could be thirdpart app or other things like that. if service is gone under windows services )

or reinstall steam over current is also a old neat tips from past steam user post.

I have been experiencing the same thing. Strange thing is the games I play while steam does it doesnt crash or close.
