Black screen (no transparency) in steam overlay

After a forced transition to the new Steam interface in the overlay, transparency disappeared in all games, the screen just turned black. Who faced this and how to fix it?

Try disabling GPU accelerated rendering for web views via your interface settings.

Steam > Settings > Interface

UNTICK the option for GPU accelerated rendering in web views.

Re-start Steam after that for changes to take effect.

If that doesn't work, you should try opting in/out of Steam beta updates.

Bitdefender and are you AMD user, with IGPU issue with main card aka know as 2 GPU card, i can also say dont have past OS win7-8.

But i also agree with above healper look liker the GPU accelration issue.
and that why no other reply today.

Bitdefender is a stemwebhelper.exe issue , ( whitelist steam.exe and webhlperher.exe )

GPU and board issue is a AMD support issue. then its enable

past win7/8 is a not support by steam soon, service issue.

Do you have a onboard IGPU, some turn it off , other as intel user simple tell windows system what is primary GPU card.


Do note some laptop has a combined 2 card solutions, they use both to work as one , only desktop pc user has a choise until someday they make same as laptop 2 work as one, i have not seen that on desktop , but i cant see why not, let IGPU deal with 2D graphic and 3D calc to other card.


Any AMD GPU issue is AMD support problem with update of its driver and option, rest is user problem to set them.

I have only 1 videocard in my PC. Thats what im sure of this.

There is only whitelist left and the other post with old UI interface. and i still think you have a AMD issue with it. ASK AMD support maybe they know better.

And do note steam webhelper is steam overlay, so dont have security issue with whatever app you has as Antivirus, dont matter if you are Bitdefender or other its can happend to other security app also. ( its a executable .exe thats mean any security app can trigger dont work anymore. ) or should i said blocked.

and worst part of this still require steam ports to work, and steam webhelper is turn on.
steam setting , the ingame menu , " enable steam overlay while ingame."

YES i KNOW IT IS, it work for us other, we dont need that option, you just disable it,
what part of of this dont you get then you turn off something. and you are AMD user or have security issue with it.

steam has 250 to 350 million of active user every day, this will be RED HOT topic if all complain here and thats not the case.

and im saying to you gl with wait for what, steam will not fix this if you dont contact them or investigate it, and they can still end up with not a steam problem. and they dont have a clue what cause this.

atm what i can see its AMD issue and security app issue. and that require helper from them that deal with that.

Bruh. I understand what's the matter.
This is solved by deleting the "skins" folder in the Steam root. Actual for those who used Metro for steam, probably. Perhaps those who used other skins do not have such a problem.

That's all
