Black screen when opening a game

I have been opening a game for 2 days and the screen goes black, the game is heard but the image does not give anything, sometimes with luck if I can see the image and play
I notice Steam weird and also the PS5 controller doesn't detect it sometimes

Try making sure your operating system and hardware drivers, your video card drivers especially, are up to date.

Did the game run fine for a while and this just started happening?

Yes, the games were great and without a problem as always, but a few days ago that started to happen, and the game really continues to emit sound, it just doesn't give an image
sometimes if it is true that they flash and you can see the game but at the moment it looks black again

Something's going on with your computer somewhere. The most likely culprits are something with the video card or something with power usage.

Have you done maintenance on the computer? Disk cleanup, virus and malware scan, defrag.

Have you checked security features including the ones in the operating system to make sure they're not interrupting the game?

Google is your friend. Have you tried Googling for solutions?

You said games, plural. One game's issue might not be the same as another's. It can be the same thing, it's not impossible. One at a time.

I usually clean the entire computer inside every 2 weeks.
I only have to verify the security functions that I will have to look for how to do it
if it happens in all STEAM games, in other platforms it doesn't, even Minecraft or LOL work fine

If it's only happening with Steam games that narrows it down more. There's performance settings in Steam's new UI. Try turning them down or off. I don't know where they are, exactly. I'm not using the new UI. I've seen a lot of Steam users complain about Steam using a ton of their computer's resources. I'm not sure changing those settings helped them or not because I haven't seen anyone follow up after that suggestion was made.

This is happening to me also. The game is CATAN Universe. Just get the opening menu page to load, but you can't see anything, which (oddly?) includes the top bar of the window it is open in.

I have an older MacBook Pro running Mac OS High Sierra 10.13.6

It didn't give me trouble for years, but it's just quit working. I reinstalled a fresh STEAM and the CATAN app as well. I can open Tabletop Simulator and launch but can't test it as it won't find the network servers for the CATAN game I play within that environment.

Any insight or assistance would be greatly appreciated.
