Ordered a Steam Deck few days before summer sale unknowingly

My steam deck didn't arrive yet, not even close to, but it already started shipping and i feel like i should be able to get the difference in price refunded, it was just a mistake. What should i do in this situation?

Unforunately, it's a physical product unlike buying a digital copy of a game so it's unlikely that they will accede to your request. That's how it goes, not just with steam deck but other physical products as well.

You could try contacting steam support to arrange to return the steam deck in exchange for a refund so that you can buy it on sale but again, I doubt that they will agree. Even if they were agreeable to it, they would likely require that the deck be physically back with them before they grant you a refund.

Update on my situation i have contacted steam support and they refunded my original order and repurchased the steam deck at the new price, leaving the price difference in my steam wallet. Steam support has been extremely helpful.

I purchased my Steam Deck less than 24 hours prior to the sale starting and I contacted Steam Help and they were very kind in providing me the difference in my Steam wallet. They basically cancelled the order I made and reordered the Deck but Im still expecting to have my Deck arrive on Monday. Great experience! I then used the money to get more games HAHA.
