Hi All,
My little nephew's email address was hacked and so they changed the steam email address owner and i can't access the account.
i couldn't find a way to reach out to steam support on the website, could anyone help out with a link or email address so i could contact steam to retrieve the account and prove ownership?

Thanks for your time reading this, i will truly appreciate any help !

Hijacked, not hacked. You leaked your account credentials somehow.

Do not trade until your account is secured.

Take the following steps to secure your account:

1. Scan for malware. https://www.malwarebytes.com/
2. Check that the email and phone number on the Steam account are still yours.
3. Deauthorize all other devices. https://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage
4. Change passwords from a clean computer.
5. Generate new backup codes for your Mobile App. https://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage
6. Revoke the API key (there should be no key). https://steamcommunity.com/dev/apikey

Steam does not return inventory items or wallet funds: https://help.steampowered.com/faqs/view/3B6E-B322-2400-8D24

If you no longer have access to your account, read this:

thanks alot !
Good luck, Amity. Hijackings are no bueno! A good time to impart a very important lesson to your nephew even though he's probably already pretty unhappy.

That's just plain wrong.
I was hacked with a link from discord and lost access to my steam account. He changed my email, password and removed my phone number. I resived a report that my email changed and through there i locked my account. Then i open a ticket and gave proofs that this account is mine. The steam support helped me and in about 13 hours i got my account back. I have his ip and reported that as well. He was from Russian.
You werent.

No you suspect he was from Russia but you can't tell for certain.

IP addresses haven't meant a thing for a decade or more, with dynamic IP addressing, VPNs, and proxy servers. Anyone can change their IP address in minutes, if not faster, VPNs let people change them in one click.

I'm not saying that all hack actions came from russians BUT, the email address that was registered in my account after the attack, had in the and .ru, not even .com. and the ip was from a russian group witch was reported from many people as scam host.

You do know that anyone can create a free email account on free email sites like mail (dot) ru, right? Anyone can. I can, you can, the OP of this thread can, some dude in his mom's basement in South America or anywhere else can. And *known* IP's get used by scammers and can be manually assigned via proxy servers or VPNs, to make people look at that known address to throw suspicion at it, instead of the real host(s).

Just take the L, learn from the experience, and do things to make sure it doesn't happen to you again. Like not clicking on random links from strangers on Discord, for starters.
