Steam Client Won't Connect
I'm trying to login to steam with my desktop app. I launch the app and try to login and only get,
"something went wrong while attempting to sign you in. Please try again later." Error Code: e8
For an entire day now, I can login in browser, but not on desktop, therefore I can't launch any of my games. I've checked firewall, network, etc., everything is setup fine. Can someone please help?

It may be that during the installation of Steam on your computer there was an error, I recommend you uninstall Steam and reinstall it from its official page, run Steam as administrator or check your Internet connection. Good luck!

win 11? or win 10?

since recently , sometimes I'm also got issue can't connect to steam when open the client , I'm using win 11 latest build

try compability win 8 mode via right click steam shortcut, click properties, to compability tab and choose win 8.

I've been getting can't connect to steam errors too, last couple of days. Windows 10 and haven't made any changes or updates. Anyone know what I can do to get it working again. Stopped working on two different computers so I suspect its something to do with the internet connection but as far as I know nothing has changed.

Thank you @Lhionard & @zuppaclub, but no luck.
This is bullcrap, it's been 2 days now and I can't access the software that I paid for! And I've yet to find a link to be able to contact STEAM, this is pathetic!

Some problem here, on the latest Windows 11. "Something went wrong..." with error e8 on login. Login worked on the web site, but not the steam client app. After checking routers, firewalls, etc., I finally uninstalled and reinstalled the steam app on Windows. That fixed the problem. (Note: after uninstalling and reinstalling steam I had to re-download my current game. No progress lost, though. Possibly you could reinstall without uninstalling first to avoid the game download and save time, but I haven't tried that.)

welp :bbtcat:

at first I thought my OS got corrupted or my internet connection gone bad

because many of users got this same / similar issue I think there is something wrong with current steam build :steambored:

I hope they could fix it ASAP.

All I know is it worked fine last week and I have made no changes at my end and now I can't connect to steam from either of my computers. Have been through all the troubleshooting guide but no help.

Try disabling your firewall and if that works, reset your firewall configurations and re-enable your firewall. Then restart steam.
