how do you clear the list of eligible accounts in sharing ?
I know how to untick the boxes . The list still shows accounts that were deleted years ago. Those steam accounts don't exist yet they're still on my list of borrowers . How do you clear that list ? Is there anyway to wipe that data ?

You would have to uninstall any games that are still installed from your friend's library. Any game that is not uninstalled will still show up on both accounts.

Log out of Steam, go to steam/config installation folder, (make a back up first) delete config.vdf , then restart Steam.

That should remove sharing connections that can linger.

But this will not removed the account names from the history on the sharing page. All those will remain. They remain the same way your computer names are stored in your account data page.

loginusers.vdf file under Steam\config folder. Open with text editor and remove other accounts there then.

Was trying to find out how to do this and came across this post. Going to necro since a combination of both comments solved the issue. loginusers.vdf only shows people that can log in to your current device I believe. You can edit config.vdf and find the user name that you want to remove. Make sure you remove both the user name and the steam ID, as well as the open and close bracket on the lines before/after the ID, then save. That will remove it from the list.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
