It looks to me that the mapping is for the controller in another mode in DsHidMini or something (X and O are reported as axes so they were operating as pressure sensitive buttons. I'd need to recheck but I don't believe SXS mode has that).
Yeah, the A and X buttons are defined as axes thats exactly what is happening, thank you very much replying, can you tell me how to put screenshots here because I tried to and I the only thing I found on internet is that I have to take the screenshots with F12 button inside a game with steam opened so I dont know if there is another way, I gonna look for that link bro ty very much.
See if that's all good first.
For non-game screenshots you can upload them to the Artwork section (your Steam Profile page > Artwork, or direct link http://steamcommunity.com/my/images/ )
- then Upload Artwork > Not Game Specific
- for 'Set visibility' I choose Unlisted
- After it's uploaded, you can get its link via the Share button
To reset to default mapping for a game:
Big Picture mode > if the game is on the Recent games screen highlight the game > Options (can press Start button on the controller) > Developer > Clear Selected Controller Layout
(or can go via the Library: BPM > Menu > Library > game > gear icon > Developer > Clear Selected Controller Layout)
Also, as I was typing that I realised I had glossed over the opening post...
It being a non-Steam game can mean different requirements/settings, will think & update later, need to go to work.
Also thinking you could avoid Steam, switch the mode to Xinput in DsHidMini, might be ok.
- The controller can operate in the big picture mode but in the test mode I was able to pull the triggers and the system was detecting them, then I make a setup for the controller and I managed to enter all the inputs but now the triggers are not detected.
I have uploaded all my screenshots but it says the automated system have to check it so I cannot upload them right now.
I have reset all the mapping by doing what you told me and also by deleting the "SDL_GamepadBind" section at the config.vdf file in the steam folder, also I have pressed the hard reset button of the controller that it have on the back and still the triggers cannot be detected in the test section of the big picture mode but the rest of the buttons except for the ps button works, the center ps button never worked and i dont know why :(
Its for Resident Evil 4 UHD Project for PC, maybe you're right it can be another meaning of configuration for the game but in Xinput its all messed up and I think that seems there is a DsHidMini controller configuration in the game itself it may be in conflict the mapping configuration because maybe they are set at the same time.
Thanks for your time I'll be waiting for your response :)
For screenshots it's ok, you can upload to same host as before, I can still access them (quoting the post is enough to see the info when Steam shows Link Removed).
For the PS button check with joy.cpl
(Windows key + R, type joy.cpl, choose Ok. Select the controller > Properties and see if the test responds to PS button. Think it lights button 13)
Paste the mapping section from config.vdf here. It should let us know if the triggers are mapped and I've found its often better/easier to fix manually vs Steam UI.
Well, DsHidMini is a control emulator as you know, I think it pick ups the mode mode of the controller in order to get detected by the game, for the images if you see that you can see the images then go to the second or third post I made the removed links are there so you can see the captures, for the PS button it doesnt work, the buttons from 13 and ahead does not work but windows can detects when I pull the triggers, an axis is modified when I do so I have been trying another thing, I am touching the usr_input.ini file that have the control mappings but since I touched it and deleted some inputs now I cannot recover the original ini file in order to reset them even though I uninstalled and then reinstalled the game the ini file keeps the same and even if I delete it when I launch the game again the ini file just write my detected controlled mappings but doesnt add the X inputs that the game have as default so do you have the ini file for re 4 UHD HD project? its located on my documents--my games--capcom--RE4--usr_input.ini
So if I can get the original file then maybe I can do something instead of breaking my head trying to get steam work, I think it will be easier if I manipulate the ini file so the only thing I will have to do is to figure it out which button do the specific action in the game.
Also I deleted all the mapping files and steam still remember that my triggers buttons doesnt work even though I maped them and it get detected when I setup the controller, steam sucks at this.

Regarding the ini file, I don't have the game.
Looking at its entry in the PC Gaming Wiki, it says some settings are tied to the game's save file, don't know if that includes the mappings.
https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/w/index.php?title=Resident_Evil_4_Ultimate_HD_Edition#Configuration_file.28s.29_location
At the Controller Remapping section they say they are editing input.ini at <path-to-game>\BIO4
https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/w/index.php?title=Resident_Evil_4_Ultimate_HD_Edition#Input
The guide that is linked to in Controller Remapping has default settings for the input.ini file.

My idea with the controller's mapping in Steam was to edit it manually.
This is what the mapping for my controller looks like (there are two entries, can edit both but last time I tested things the important one to edit is the one with the crc):
030000004c0500006802000000000000,dev:none:Wireless controller for PLAYSTATION(R)3,platform:Windows,a:b2,b:b1,y:b0,x:b3,start:b8,guide:b12,back:b9,leftstick:b10,rightstick:b11,leftshoulder:b6,rightshoulder:b7,dpup:h0.1,dpleft:h0.8,dpdown:h0.4,dpright:h0.2,leftx:a0,lefty:a1,rightx:a2,righty:a5,lefttrigger:a3~,righttrigger:a4~,crc:2b8d,
03008d2b4c0500006802000000000000,dev:none:Wireless controller for PLAYSTATION(R)3,a:b2,b:b1,y:b0,x:b3,start:b8,guide:b12,back:b9,leftstick:b10,rightstick:b11,leftshoulder:b6,rightshoulder:b7,dpup:h0.1,dpleft:h0.8,dpdown:h0.4,dpright:h0.2,leftx:a0,lefty:a1,rightx:a2,righty:a5,lefttrigger:a3~,righttrigger:a4~,platform:Windows,
Don't know if your triggers will need to be the inverted like mine did. The mapping via Steam gave lefttrigger:a3,righttrigger:a4 , so I manually edited the config file and added the tilde to invert the axes (lefttrigger:a3~,righttrigger:a4~).
