Steam linked to hacked EA account, and cant unlink
Basically, not too long ago my email got hacked, and all the accounts linked to it got logged and compromised. I managed to recover all the hacked accounts (Steam,Epic,Microsoft,etc..), however I did not manage to recover my EA account. After trying to play an EA game through my steam account today, it lead me to the EA app to sign in, just to remember that I cant sign in or create a new account as the steam account im using is already linked to my old account which is hacked and fully compromised. I already tried finding help from EA support, but there is no point as I do not have access to the account anymore. I would like to ask if it is possible for me to unlink this steam account with my old EA account. However if it is not possible, is there still a chance the hacker could access my steam account and compromise as it is linked to my EA account that is used by the hacker?

The linking is done on EA's end. You will have to regain access to the compromised account.

And no, they will not be able to get into your account. EA only has a token ID, not something even remotely related to account credentials.

You'll have to get in Contact with an EA Advisor to restore your account.

Here is the easiest way to restore your account:

1. Navigate to EA Help.

2. Click Contact Us at the top of the page.

3. Choose Origin as your Product.

4. Choose PC as your Platform.

5. Under 'Topic' select Manage my account.

6. Under 'Issue' select Restore account.

7. Click the Blue Select Contact Option at the bottom of the page.

8. You should be able to Request a Live Chat or Callback. Simply explain your situation and include any pictures if they ask.

I just recovered my account and all I did was go to EA's support and ask if they could help. I provided some details about the account and I could link it to another email.

The answer hasn't changed in a year.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
