Suspect MMS, help!

Hello. Since few months I am getting some scam MMSs. I didn't even open the messages I was just removing them instantly. Today I got another one and I was tired of it, I checked a number on website where people share scam numbers and there was a lot of comments about this nubmer so its 100% scam. So tomorrow I gonna call to my operator and block it (I know new phones can do it manually but my is not that new, its from 2016).

But my problem is, to write this number in google I had to open messages APP (I didn't open the message, just APP) and I was there like 10 seconds. After 10 seconds my phone gave me a prompt "You can not download this file right now, try again later". It looks like my phone is downloading MMS before even opening a message? I checked with other MMS, my mom just sent me a picture and I didn't open a message, I just opened a message APP and again "you can not download this file right now, try again later". I had my WiFi and local internet turned OFF but I am a bit afraid that something could happen becasue this message was 100% scam. But again, I didn't open it. Why my phone wants to download things from MMS before even opening a message?

Steam has sub forums for example there is "Steam discussions" so there are threads about steam. I see here "Help and tips" not "Help with a steam" So I bet this is a right sub forum if I have a some problems not about steam.

If your phone is from 2016 and it got no updates, it might be affected by mms vulnerabilities. I routinely disable "get mms automatically" in messages app settings, even years later.

There is no real reason why a normal person would send mms anyway in this age.

Your phone likely has a "block numbers feature". You need to read about that.
