Games not running properly on new computer
I have recently built a new computer and have been having some issues with steam. When I try to play games that were first downloaded on my old laptop, they run for a few seconds and close before anything comes up, not even a game window opens before it closes. One thing I have noticed is that any games I've downloaded on my new pc that weren't on the old one work just fine with no issues. I've tried verifying game files, updating drivers and uninstalling and reinstalling the games and even steam itself.

I have an AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT graphics card and am running windows 11 on the new computer.
The old laptop has a NVIDIA GeForce 920MC graphics card and running windows 10.

Thanks for any help!

Check the directx being used on the older games use Directx 11.
In the run type dxdiag press enter run all tests see what if anything could be the problem.
You may need to just reinstall directx 11
Select Start > Settings > Windows Update > Check for updates. If there's a newer version of DirectX available, you can download and install it here

Sense it worked before, then you possible run laptop in balance mode and forgot Full performance mode.

ps.
rest is seen as thirdpart app issue like VC++ or .net or directX issue.

do note, dism and SFC with OS is not a game devs issue and thirdpart app is not included or needed in a OS, ( a none gaming pc wont need them )

why mention this, because they are not part of system check with it, and why most laptop has a crash to desktop with no explanations. ( this is know as lack of resoureces or corrupeted thirdpart app. ( be happy if you do get a error message from thirdpart app, that a hell alot better then nothing )

windows event log can maybe show a clue why a app crash.

gl with it.

ps.
Driver and bios update, is user own problem to maintain and deal with it, windows update do not count as then my pc is updated, this is your Brand board or Brand name support site that know this better.

I am having the same issue with a new G15 with GeForce RTX3060 running Win11. Games working on old failing laptop Win10, but flash open then immediately close on the new system. I can say some of the games work on both the old and new system, so it is not a 100 percent games played on previous not running on new. Still struggling for answers myself.

UPDATE: After complete factory wipe, updates, and reinstall I finally got an error pup I could work with. Mine finally fixed when I downloaded and reinstalled VC Redistributables. Search and install VC_Redist.x64 and x86. Then run a steam://flushconfig from the run command when Steam is closed.
