Can I get a notification every time there's a new authorized device?
Basically I would like to be notified whenever a new device logged in my account, in Steam, via email, or both. Kind of strange that I don't see an option for this because this has been a thing in other websites for years. Or it's there but hidden?

Make sure your Steam emails aren’t being “auto-archived” or just sent to spam.
I've checked spam and archived. No lucks.
Just to clarify. I did get emails from Steam when I change my password or email, but not when a new device is authorized.

You don't get emails when you login, no matter the device

If anything is changed, you should receive an email noting the change.

There's seriously no option for that?

Nope and personally I hate it when it's done so much so that I have it gets auto filtered to spam

Well I think they're important. Steam accounts can be valuable and deserved those security things.

New device logins send you a guard code to enter into Steam. That is the email you are wanting.

Username, password and 2FA should be enough. You'll need all 3 to login on a new device. Keep them secure and you're fine

no sorry
With email auth you get an email with a code each time a new device gets logged into.

With auth app you need to grab your phone each time you log in.

There are sites, that tell you that someone logged in your account, when it was you, still holding the same phone you just read the 2fa code from....... to read that notification right after.
It does not make much sense, does it?

I thought so. Until my account was hacked. To this day I still don't understand how did they bypass steam guard. The fact that they can bypass Steam guard without my phone is just stupid, and the fact that I cannot know immediately when such thing happen is more stupid.

How did they access your account?

Steam has a short article about it here: https://help.steampowered.com/en/faqs/view/06B0-26E6-2CF8-254C#stolen

Phishing is the most common method. (= tricking you into entering your account name + password + steam guard code into a fake steam login page)

* 3:rd party sites (trading, gambling etc.)
* 3:rd party sites that offers free things, like skins, hats, games, discord nitro, etc.
* Friend asks you to "vote for me/my team in this tournament", with a link to fake steam login.
* Someone invites you to "join my team because you're an awesome player", with a link to the "team website".

If you fall for it, they will use your account name/password/steamguard code to immediately log themselves into your account.
Steam can't see that they aren't you, since they have everything needed to do a normal login.

Not phishing. But I think the hacker had my username and password because I had same username and password in other platforms. I think my login info were probably leaked from a few data branches. I didn't mind though because there are steam guard after all. But nope. They bypassed that. When I saw the notification on my phone. It was 4 hours later. I could've stop it quickly if there was a desktop notification at the moment I was at my desktop.
