Slow download / 100% disc usage
after few months on new PC, steam downloading works terrible.
I used to download games with 60-100mb speed, now i can barely get 5mb and drops to 0mb/s
in task manager my disc usage is 100% while downloading on steam.
Other platforms works fine. I checked: disc health, reset router ip, reseting temp files, repairing steam folder, antyvirus. Any ideas?

That means your disc can't hold up with processign the data, like decrypting, decompressing and/or applying the update.

New M2 SSD disc with good health status and working with other platforms, cant work with steam? sounds kinda weird

Depends on what causes the bottleneck. Can also be some software interfering with Steam, like an antivirus.

There are many possible options.
Your drive being at 100% indicates it struggles with the task somehow.

What drive is it?

Blue SN570

Ok, that is a budget drive that lacks a DRAM Cache. The lack of it can seriously cripple the drive's performance down and even below HDD speeds. As Steam downloads and processing is IO intensive the lack of the DRAM Cache makes the weak point of the drive very obvious.

So, nothing you can do as that is the limitation of the hardware.

But it works fine like for 3months that's the point.

How big is the drive and how much free space is left?

1tb more than half,

Have you fiddle with write behind cache on disk propertise. ?

Other steam user has done this, and later claim they did not, to my knowledge its default off.

20 years ago then it was not, and i doubt any app or update do such things on purpose.

ps.
only tech person with hands on check on such , its not a first choise in ask any in a forum.

Solved the problem. creating new steam library on new partiton works well. i delete steam and create new B: disc :WH3_skragHapp:

as above user point out cache data can be seen as 2 ways , your disk is not fast to keep up or you cache to much data in buffer for it to deal with it. ( this is know as transport layer issue ) same as 2 person feed 1 person. the reciving end is the problem.

No you did not, partiton a disk wont fix anything, still same physical disk.
there is a reason we point it out, you can find several post with fake ideas in how things work.
and speed and performance with it, can be seen as even harmfull then user move data among then, this you might know , but not all steam user might know such.

pretty sure you will return then you see, then both disk partions is used then you will see disk performance drop to worse the 50%. ( its not a problem for us here if want to do that, but this is not a fix for most user. ) and its your pc and you can do what you want ofc.
