I got an error message when trying to remove a steam game from my account permanently

I went to "Help" then "Steam Support" selected the game and then clicked the option to remove the game from my account permanently, and when I tried to remove it I received a red box with an error message that said, "There was an unexpected error removing this product from your account."

What does this error message mean? I've removed games from my steam library before using this method and this is the first time that I've ever gotten this error message. What do I do to fix it? Already contacted steam support about it and they are not helping.

nothing is ever permanently removed from your library. if you dont want to see the game, just use the HIDE feature.

Yeah obviously it means there was an error, you're not making any breakthroughs by telling me that. I'm very clearly asking you two why the error is happening. If you've never been in/heard of a similar situation to this before and you don't know what it means, then why bother commenting?

the Permanently Delete option is just the first version of the HIDE feature. they do the same thing, except the HIDE feature is much easier to use and if you want to see the game again it much easier to recover the game.

it was called Permanently Delete because people (being the idiots they are) were asking for ways to get rid of games they no longer wanted to see on their accounts. if a game can be "permanently deleted" do you think it should be recoverable? permanent normally means just that, PERMANENT, no going back, no changing your mind later. there is a license for the game that is permanently attached to the account.

It's a generic error. Try again at a later time. If it continues, send in a support ticket to have them look into the issue.

That functionality is completely reversible.

It will also tell you when you try to purchase the game again that you need to restore it instead.

Your own research is lacking.
