Is it legal to post images from a video game's Steam store page

I am a computer science student and I am asked to either make a topical magazine in web format or a newsletter for a club/society as my coursework project.

I am thinking of making a web magazine based on the video game topic for the submission and I want to add various sections and information about newly released, upcoming, currently on sale and some of my favorite video games in my magazine.

I want to ask if I am allowed to add images and snaps of the description from the game's steam page if I also add the citations or do I actually need permission from the video game owners for this?

I see a lot of YouTube videos and blogs using the game's visuals as well. Do they take permission for each game's content used in their respective videos or they are by default allowed to use those visuals and descriptions?
