The staff can';t forget about something they know nothing about. Tickets sit in a queue. When they dealt with the current one they go down the list. For all you know your first ticket could have been next in the queue when you deleted it. All you can do is wait, remember it's now the weekend too
A pending refund does not prevent you from buying something else.
If you frequently refund games you may be revoked the ability to refund games due to abuse of the function.
The refund option is not there to try out games.
They may already have revoked your ability to refund games.
