Question about Linked Account Games

Hi all! I had a question that I tried asking the Ubisoft Support team, but they didn’t really answer. The Ubisoft community forums didn’t ever answer my question either.

A long time back (a year at this point), I had purchased the game Uno, which requires an Ubisoft account linked to Steam in order to play.

However, I no longer want to have an Ubisoft account. My only concern is what will happen to my Ubisoft games in my Steam library.

Suppose I wanted to play Uno in the future after I theoretically delete my Ubisoft account. I would create a new Ubisoft account. Here are where the questions come.

1. Will there be any issues from Ubisoft in regards to account linking, since this Steam account was previously linked to an Ubisoft account?
2. Will there be any issues playing games that require an Ubisoft account with a new one, if they’ve already been launched with another Ubisoft account?

If there are any issues, what are they, and how would you resolve them?

How would these policies look for Epic Games and EA?

Same thing as "I no longer want to have a driver's license", you don't get to access the stuff connected to it.

I apologize, but this didn’t really answer my concerns.

I am already aware that deleting an Ubisoft account won’t let me play Ubisoft games from Steam. However, that is not my main concern.

I am asking about circumstances that may occur in the future, and whether I would be able to play Ubisoft games that I bought from Steam with a different Ubisoft account.

I keep it simple, don't delete your Ubisoft account.


When you link an account, you must use same accounts. Games you linked to said account, have to use same account that simple.


If you delete your Ubisoft account, you lose access to launching the game, because you deleted your account, even if you make a new account, you can't relink the game to new account, it tied to the original account it was link to hence don't delete it.

You will not play them anymore.
And likely never with that steam account again. Same with other accounts you think of "not wanting them anymore". It makes no sense to do that.

It won't affect future Ubisoft games purchased on Steam if linked to a different account.
But you won't play your previous Ubisoft games unless using your other Ubisoft account.
If that one is deleted, the games will remain unplayable.
They can not be transferred/linked to another Ubisoft account.

in this article, it is clearly shown that Ubisoft allows you to transfer Games from one Ubisoft Account to another.

but you will need to give a VERY VERY SOLID REASON to do so.

i) Please note that we can only transfer PC games that have been purchased on physical discs, or on the following platforms:
 
Epic
Steam
Ubisoft Connect PC
