Disk write error
Hi

Today I ran into a problem where, as soon as I want to install a game on Steam, I always get the disk write error error message.
I tried all the repair options on the internet but it didn't fix it.

Drive: Samsung 980 Pro 1Tb nvme
During the test, the drive is in perfect condition.

A full system reinstall didn't fix it either.

Does anyone have experience with this type of error?

Can also be the result of an anti-virus being overzealous. Have you whitelisted the Steam, or especially the Steamapps and underlying, folders?

What's the firmware revision on that drive?
Because those Samsung 980 Pro NVME drives have known problems with the drive spontaneously dropping its spaghetti and running completely out of available spare space, leading to a sharp drop in disk health and ultimately ending in the drive locking itself into a read-only state.

That damage is non-recoverable by installing updated firmware, btw.
You need to upgrade to the latest available firmware before the problems start, or your drive is basically destined for the bin.

The latest firmware revision for those drives is 5B2QGXA7 and that fixes the issue.
Use Samsung Magician to check the firmware revision and update it if you have to.

Yes, I tried to create another folder and complete firewall blocking.
