How do I stop the "EA background service" after closing the god awful EA app?
I have to manually go to task manager and end task from there. No option in within the launcher and I am not sure if it is possible to configure within task manager to auto end after closing the app.

I never installed this abomination of an app when it was in beta because of this issue. Thought it would go away after the release but no.

I think instead of Epic launcher people should complain more about EA launcher

Out of curiosity, if the background service is running, what's the consequences?

I mean I understand if you hate EA, and have opinions about how the software should behave. But what happens to your system if you just don't worry about it?
my pc is strong enough that I do not see the effects but I like to control whats running and not in the background and I hate when a service is running while I have closed its app
Origin had a setting to disable that. The new ea app is a modern step back
would love if someone finds a solution for this. I found a setting in Windows that lets you prevent an app from running in the background, but I'm not certain that's the same thing.
It looks like "background" means any time it's not the focused program, in which case I would want it to be able to do updates and stuff in the background, just not when I close it. Ugh.

Update: Apparently this setting is only available for a limited number of apps? Primarily windows apps. But not EA. I hate this.

If you go into services and chose to disable it will ea still work?

Edit: Just tried it ea will complain with a big warning box that you turned off that service then demands you to turn it back on. So i put it to manual that way it only runs when you start the ea app up.
