- Any anti-virus running? (Windows defender’s fine though)
- Trying to install to a “Read Only” folder maybe?
- Which directory are you trying to install it to?
I'm not certain about the read only. The game is already installed onto the drive. The drive has way more than 84mb open yet Steam says it doesn't have enough space, then won't update the game. It gives the "retry this update" button. Hitting the button just gives the same error.
My directory? As in the file pathway? One is my main drive C: and the other is an external, F:
Both drives already have Steam games installed and proper pathways. It's just sometimes, randomly, a game won't update or install because it claims not to have enough space. Even though it does have enough space.
I don't know if it'd be related but for quite awhile now "allocating disk space" during installs takes forever as well. For either drive. It used to be very fast but now it only "allocates" at like 30mbs, which for a game in the high Gigs can take forever
What I mean is, if the update makes the game reinstall (but removes the old files after) then it would not think it has enough room because the unupdated game would still be there. This game (Beam.NG Drive) seems to always "reinstall" itself after it's updated. As in, it downloads itself over again, or at least seems to.
However this doesn't explain why sometimes other games will randomly do this.
