Account deactivated "This account may have been accessed by someone else"
TL:DR; How am I supposed to recativate my account with steam support being too incompetent to actually help?

Hey guys,

I turn to you for help as steam support is not really helpful like always. Another account of mine got deactivated yesterday immediately after a trade between me and skinbaron. So right now im sitting on rip -500€ and an 18 years old account which cannot be used anymore. I reached out to steam support proving my ownership, but they want the retail key from 18 years (19 years on the 26th) ago. You can guess, I don't have it anymore. I sent them bank statements, and a ton of personal data related with the account in order to quickly fix the issue, yet they came back with following:

"I appreciate the information and attachment provided, some of it matches the account, however the Steam Email receipts is not a valid proof of ownership."

Bank statements are steam email receipts. Thats cool, and didnt knew that. Anyways, I sent them more details and more proof in form of cd keys from literally 1.5 decade ago, credit card statements, more bank statements from the past 3 years, billing address, last 4 digits of CC but they didnt quite like that either. They replied with "open a ticket from the original email"

Fine, went over to the browser and opened a ticket with reference to the main Ticket. Support replies: "I need the CD Key" I tell him I don't have it anymore after 19 years, see reference Ticket.
Guy goes ahead and closes the ticket. Why does steam make me does this when I'm literally following instructions.

Back to the main Ticket: I told support I wrote a ticket from the email, they replied with "How to create a ticket without being logged in"

So the million dollar question is: How am I supposed to verify ownership, when I desperately try to do so and deliver more proof to steam than to the local tax authority every year. Steam support being too incompetent to actually reply with human messages or even a simple call. Steam support has ofc no phone support, which is of course pretty bad for situations that need a quick fix. Response time varies from 10 minutes to 10 hours always with the same scripted text, not giving any helpful information. I feel like talking to robots.

EDIT: They got back to me with another closed ticket. "Thank you also for the information you have provided. However, the screenshots you provided is not valid for verifying account ownership and unfortunately all the other information is not enough for us to verify that you are the owner of the account." Steam knows more about me than my local tax division but steam thinks I'm some animal or idk. This is dumbness pure.

Red Box on the top right says following
This account may have been accessed by someone else.
Steam Support suspects your account may have been accessed by someone else. We are temporarily restricting modifications to this account as a security precaution. Please contact Steam Support so we can assist you.

This account will have restricted functionality until the owner has regained access.
Purchasing, gifting, trading, cd-key activation, playing online on VAC enabled game servers, and Steam Community access have been disabled.

Steam support normally only asks for the first retail key used when more then one person is trying to claim the account.

Please don't take this question the wrong way. Are you the original person who created the account?

Well my father did, for my brother. He didn't like half life so I picked it up when I was old enough.
In the last month I was tried to be scammed once through a site, where they got my credentials but couldnt log in in time because i have mobile authenticator and I quickly changed passwords everywhere

The first contact was through the account that is restricted. The second contact was from the email address which was used on the acc until 3 years ago.

make sure to do all of these

DO NOT TRADE
many scams try and scare you into trading your items and they get hijacked

1. Scan for malware https://www.malwarebytes.com/

2. Deauthorize all other devices https://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage

3. Change passwords from a trusted/clean computer.

4. Generate new backup codes for your Mobile App https://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage

5. Revoke the API key https://steamcommunity.com/dev/apikey (there should be nothing in the APIKEY)

if it was not through one of these, it was not steam you were talking to

It was a guy, I talked to him for a few days, we played cs and he asked me if i wanted to play a tourenament on a site like faceit. I was like hey the guy seems nice, we've been playin some I didnt think anything bad. Until I logged into the site and realised steam wont connect because white screen on steam means keylogger.... Should have thought about it earlier. I did not download anything. Browsers are running in virtual environment with no cache and temporary data. So even if the site downloaded something, there is no way that that affected my main system.

Is it possible that the guy who tried to scam me is contesting the account?

That protects your account from actions that may hurt it further.
Like cheating on VAC secured servers, trading items or selling them on the Steam marketplace.

The account is completely restricted, you can't message, can't play, can't see the profile etc... Steam already did that yesterday
