Steam thinks my Saitek side panel is a PS3 controller and therefore doesn't work
I have a Saitek side panel for Farming Simulator 22 that's always worked fine, up until today when Steam registered it as a PS3 controller, meaning the panel now doesn't work ingame. The steering wheel is of the same brand and works as it should, but the side panel is recognized as a PS3 controller. Can someone help me out here?

See if Hide Device does the job.

Steam > Settings > Controller > General Controller Settings

Select the device > Hide Device (if the option is displayed it would be next to the Back button)

I solved the problem by disabling steam imput in the controller section. My side panel is now recognized in game.

Did anyone figure out how to fix this issue having the same problem right now

1. Activate steam "Big Picture Mode" (lts a small box
at the top right with arrows pointing in opposite
corners)
2. Click on Farming Simulator 22 in the main menu
3. Click the gear icon to the right (should be next to a
controller button)
4. Click on 'Properties
5. Click on 'Controller*
6. There should be a drop down menu above the
'Steam Input Status' window
7. Click the drop-down and select "Disable Steam
Input"
Now close out of steam entirely and restart, then boot
up Farming Simulator 22. This SHOULD fix that stuck input problem. Hope this helps

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
