and yet its still have to work as you pointout , VRchat and whatever software it is.
dont expect oter to agree here, balance mode might not cover game requirements , we have debat this many times here. ( problem is i learn this 10years ago with oldrim ( aka skyrim ) it simple crash to desktop then it cant handle it, and problem was gone in Full performance, sure we can debat better driver sense and new OS, but i bet a desktop pc will not do that, as i said i cant proof it its best guess and experience and it look like that issue.
this is why spec and game name and detail matter. ( can i run it google it ) its a help to avoid just barely can play the game , do not mistake game devs can optimized things later, so you actual can play with sometimes on the edge , but its also seen that DLC and mods can push edge or over it, this is simple and yet complex depend on how much gamers know about it.
and you can through in VC++ in top of this have newest optimized thirdpart app made by MS and not game devs install or steam common redistributable files.
as i said you want best optimized pc the closer you are to the edge of game requirements or stuggle with pc resoureces so it run smother. ( you might know all this, many of us do, that dont mean we explan it to other, ( BIOS and Chipset driver and GPU driver is a most to know and be recheck at Brand board pc support or name. ) do not count on auto update tool app, we have seen them fail more frequent, as user then we double check things at Brand support site.

recheck and replug usb, so auto configuration reinstall its configuration, many forget this today.
if you know how bad it once was with usb printer and scanner then you know.
attached, then you can install software, then replug it so it can redo its auto detect its process.
this was before MS was given the Driver from Brand support, as you see detail matter, and BRAND supports problem with now in your case headset VR or chat ( look like that )
im not sure they know such, all this is that support problem, problem is they might need time to figureout what is the cause.
and its here you colide with, what i call a laptop is not same as a desktop in performance and never will be. ( game devs need to optimize for laptop spec not desktop, then half of all problem will be gone to most game issue. )

if it was the laptop (MSI:GL63-9SEK) then it would have bothered me the Entire year instead of going a year, then doing it, then fixing itself for a year, then only now doing it. lol

i did just have to reset my PC, So maybe that reset whatever program that was doing it.

Screen randomly goes black, plays the disconnect sound, reconnect sound, and lags the game. Sometimes the sound doesn't come back, and this happens constantly.

Apparently it WAS the CABLE. But I'm still confused on what it really was at the time of posting. I bought a new base station, and it went away.
This time it's doing the same thing as my original post, but this time I replaced the cable, and it worked.
I checked the "bad" base station and it still works! So I'm confused on how a cable can break... Then Fix itself for a whole year, then break again. Lol
