My controller keeps disconnecting and reconnecting for no reason.
I'm using Windows 10 64-bit and a wired Xbox 360 controller.

I have no problem getting my controller recognised.

But, every now and then, the controller will get disconnected and immediately reconnected on its own. It can happen only once in a hour, or sometimes 4 or 5 time in the spawn of 2 minutes.

When it happens, I hear the Windows sound cue for USB devices getting plugged in or out. This cause pauses and slow downs while playing and sometimes gets me killed as the controller stops working for 1 or 2 seconds.

At first I thought my wired Xbox controller was acting up, but I get the same issue with a PS4 controller using a micro USB cable.

I don't see this happening with any other USB devices. Using different USB ports doesn't fix the issue either.

Any idea what could cause this?
