Can someone explain booster packs?
I just saw a steam profile and i checked their inventory and it was full of booster packs, i was wondering like how do i get them? because i never got one and i know you can buy them but this preson had a lot of steam cards and other items and he was a high level so i assume he got them over time, i saw a explaining video about it but the guy was very confusing

i got that you can get more booster packs if you are a higher steam level but he said i need to get all trading cards before i could get any packs, now i dont know if i have to have the cards that i got from the game in my inventory or i can just sell them and still have the chance to get a pack

i sold, traded or used all my trading cards that i got from drops so maybe thats why didnt get any booster packs? if i dont need them in my inventory tho, i dont dont understand how i didnt get one yet

Once you get all card drops for a game you are then eligible for booster packs for that game.

1 booster pack drops when someone creates a badge for a game,

The more people that are eligible the less chance you got to get the booster pack drop,

The higher your steam level the better the chance to get the booster pack drop.

Hope this helps.

You don't need to have the all cards, or any of the cards, in your inventory. You just need to have earned all of the card drops for the game in order to qualify for receiving booster packs for that game. You can certainly sell off the cards you've gotten from the drops and still qualify for booster packs.

No. Getting booster packs on any regular basis depends on a lot of factors. The higher your Steam level is will increase your chances. The more games you are qualified for booster packs will increase your chances. But even then, getting a booster pack is from a random distribution of that booster pack. When an user crafts a badge for a game a booster pack for that game is created in Steam's system and is given to a random user from among all those that are qualified to get that game's booster pack.

So while you can increase your chances of getting one, you'll still be dependent on the games, those games' popularity, the number of times someone is crafting a badge for the game, etc.

Some people go years before receiving their first one while some seem to get them almost every week.

Also you can create booster packs yourself from gems for the games you own.
