Steam hiding my wishlist link on profile page despite everything being set to public
Even when "My profile" and "game details" are set to "friends only" or "public", my friends are completely unable to see a wishlist link when visiting my profile. For completeness' sake, I've tried modifying everything in privacy settings to public/friends, but they didn't change anything either.

This didn't used to be a problem as my brother and I would visit each other's wishlist for birthdays and christmas shopping. So sometime in the last year, this broke. I believe there was a time when I privated each of these settings, so there is a good chance that the setting is being cached somewhere weird and never updating.

Of note is that my profile also doesn't show the "recent activity" section when my friends view it, which seemingly reinforces my bad cache theory. Is there a way to force a refresh?

EDIT: I will mention that a direct link to my wishlist does properly get people to the page, but the url is not visible in the steam client and I don't want people to need to look up the link every time they want to look.

EDIT 2:
My friends (and alt account) see this: https://imgur.com/cRi5w2b (goes from showcase to comments)
I see this: https://imgur.com/a/vTR5tZD (has showcase, recent activity, links - including wishlist, and then comments)

I see your Wishlist just fine.

Are you going from the link in my profile page, or are you putting my username into the URL for the steam wishlist page? because I'm referring to the former in this post

I went through your profile and can get to and see your Wishlist.

Then I am not sure what's going wrong. I have my alt account (which is friends with my main) loaded up on my other computer and when I use that or open up an incognito mode tab to use guest mode on the steam website, the link section of my profile is blank like what's shown in my first screenshot.

Server issues made worse by Tuesday maintenance.

This has been the case for my account since at least christmas. I'm only making the post now because I was hoping a refresh would happen between now and then, but I'm still having a problem.

Your cache theory might be right, but it would be the cache on their end. Let them visit your profile page on a browser (in incognito mode). If it works there, but not on the client/regular browser, it's the cache.

I tried incognito mode on my end to pretend I wasn't me. I also did an "empty cache and hard reload" action on the site both as my alt account and as a logged-out guest in incognito mode as well as separately checking on a machine that I'm quite sure has not touched my steam page before just to be extra sure the cache wasn't around. No change in any tests. I could tell my brother to go through the same steps over at my parent's place, but I don't think it will change anything unless servers are deciding what to show me based on my IP address.

My only guess right now is distributed server-side cache. Anyone who logs in in my area (or however server distribution is decided) gets the cache, but randos in other states who have no idea who I am don't have that cache and therefore get fresh data.

Bit of an update: I just noticed that the "Game Collector" showcase panel contains a link to the wishlist. I tried removing that showcase to see if it was somehow confusing things, but no luck there. Regardless, I can set that showcase up at the bottom of my profile to at least get a similar link in a similar location so that my friends/family have *something* to click.

I got to it through your profile.

This is what I see. Don't mind the blue and green highlights. That's just Augmented Steam features.

Alright, unless anyone else has any ideas, I'm going to move my settings back to friends only for the time being and mark my workaround as the closest thing to an answer since this behavior can't seem to be replicated by anyone visiting my page for the first time.

(Nvm, apparently my own comments can't be marked as answers)
