Steam achievement bug question (no time or dated logged)
Hi all,

Earlier today I got an achievement in Devil May Cry 5: "Too Easy" - for completing the Bloody Palace with Dante. Around that time I noticed I had trouble loading any game's achievement page. Now that I look back on my achievement page for the game, I see I unlocked the achievement, but it does not have a date or time logged with it, which is a first for me to ever see. On my profile within the "recent games" I also noticed that the achievement icon is missing between the latest achievements (the icon should show up as second most recent, but that has the third most recent - "Heaven or Hell" completion - in that place instead). Luckily the achievement count is correct (52/55 for me personally).

Edit with additional info: I was playing with Steam online, not offline, and had no internet troubles (I had a broadcast on in the background which was running fine). I also asked a friend to check my profile, and on his end the achievement shows as not being unlocked. I can however place it in an achievement showcase for example. Also, in the Devil May Cry 5 screen in the library the achievement shows up normally in the correct place within the small subscreen for achievements as well as in the activity feed. In both places, if I hover over the achievement it shows the date and time accurately logged: Dec 30, 2022, 5:18PM

Does anyone know what's up with it? I've never seen this happen before and am wondering if it will show/update later or if it will be half bugged for life.

Many thanks

3. When connection gets restored/hiccup goes away achievement unlocks randomly and without timestamp.
You can try this to "flush" achievements and redo them again:
https://partner.steamgames.com/doc/features/achievements/ach_guide#13
If you need to "clear" only a couple of achievements (or just one) and it's possible to re-trigger them without deleting save game (dunno how you're going to find that out though...), then better use first option (achievement_clear). Otherwise delete your current save, "flush" everything with second command (reset_all_stats) and, well, do everything all over again.
If you don't want to risk messing with Steam console commands then try to ask game dev to add a button for achievement reset to in-game options menu... or in-game console command that'll do the same thing... or something like that.

I've lost a few perfect games from my list, my perfectionist showcase doesn't work. This is my second day with this problem. Steam support is not responding.

I only know that some people have the same problem.

I'm sorry to hear of the issues you're experiencing and hope it will be resolved soon.

However I do think the issues you have may be different. My showcases work fine, and as I edited into my post: I can put the achievement in a showcase (so it is unlocked there too - though all the way at the bottom of the list, which is not the place it should be).

As for perfect game count going down: I believe this can happen too if for example DLC (with new achievements) is released at a later date. So this may be the case for you, and if not it may help others who are confused by it.

As I noticed, now something is happening with achievements, they are crookedly counted, etc.

Ok, thanks for clarifying. I hope it will settle itself with time.

More insights/experiences are still welcome!

this morning my achievements were normal but then i went to get one in left 4 dead 2 i got it, but the achievement highlight bugged and disappeared and when it came back i noticed that a perfect game is missing and the number of achievements decreased, but i checked everything no I didn't lose any achievements or the perfect game, it's probably a server error or maintenance since this week Steam was very lagged, this problem is happening to other people too

Sorry to hear. Did/does the achievement highlight that disappeared for you also miss its date and time of unlocking in your achievement list?

This may happen when your Internet connection goes down or Steam servers experience a hiccup. Actually, one of three things may happen:
1. Achievement somehow unlocks properly and with a proper timestamp.
2. When connection gets restored/hiccup goes away achievement unlocks after closing or opening the game with a timestamp showing time of just mentioned "game closing/opening".

I see, that would be #3 having occurred for me then, for the first time ever. As such I don't expect a date and time for my achievement to show up after any maintenance or such, though I do hope the other people's issues may be fixed with Steam maintenance.

Many thanks for your explanation and link. I will have to contemplate whether I should test the "achievement_clear" option. I don't see CAPCOM changing the options or adding a console, besides me not wanting a full achievement reset.

Right now I cannot see any achievements for any of my games on the library overview. They usually have a section on the right-hand side that has the achievements to a game but not a single game is showing their achievements. I see them on my main page but not in library. Is this a bug right now?

For the past days I've seen this on and off at short times. I believe I've had it also where some games did show it, and some didn't. For me this goes back to normal with passing of time, and no data was lost (outside of the bug in unlocked time and date not showing up for the one in my original post).
