Steam Input Button Mapping not Working Correctly
Hello, I have been trying to use the Steam Input functionality to set custom controls for a generic gamepad (gamecube controller) for a specific game (Wizard of Legend). I have a custom layout saved, and in the game's preferences I have selected the option to enable steam input. However when the game is loaded the controls are completely different from what I have set them to be, which renders the controller totally unusable. I have spent about an hour tinkering and troubleshooting to get this working correctly and I have reached my limit. What am I doing incorrectly? Is there a bug?

Thank you in advance for your response.

Slight update: It appears that what steam considers port 1 on my gamecube controller adapter does not align exactly with the actual port 1, and giving ports 2-4 the same layout fixes some of the issues. Not all the buttons match exactly with what I have set them to be still though, but it is at least mostly playable, and continuing to mess around with the controls might be enough. (For example, what steam recognizes as buttons x & y are reversed, and the GC's z button does not seem to register as RB, so not sure what it thinks the z button is)

On the Controller Settings screen (Steam > Settings > Controller > General Controller Settings), select the controller and see if you get the option Define Layout. You can set the base mapping there.

I got it figured out, not sure how to delete a thread. The issue was a combination of never having used the software before and very particular design. Also weird interactions between the steam input software and the controller hardware. Thanks anyways for the response.
