I figured it out....thank you to everyone trying to help me.
My laptop is a 64 bit, but running at 32 bit, I have to upgrade to windows 11 which will run at 64 bit to play all the sims games. I wished EA would make things easier and go back to CD's.

Going back to CD's wouldn't make things easier. If the game is designed for 64bit then it's 64 bit no matter where it gets installed from.

If you're changing OS you can installed Win 10 or 11 and select 64bit EDIT: provided you have a 64bit CPU if you don't going to 11 won't make a difference. What CPU?

There's so much inaccuracy in that short post it hurts my brain .
CD's has nothing to do with it. It's the cpu and the os if your cpu is only 32 bit windows 64 bit will not work. Just like 64 bit games will not work with a 32 bit cpu. Your cpu has to be 64 bit to run windows 64 bit and 64 bit games. A 64 bit cpu will run 32 bit software.
