One in store gift card limit per customer.
I stood in line at Walmart for half an hour to buy three physical gift cards so I could put them in Christmas cards, one each for my three kids, only to be told "one steam card limit per customer". So I'll never try to buy another steam gift card for anybody ever again. Instead I bought a real stores gift cards for my kids.

Fix your dumbass policy, you're loosing money cuz of it. Not a happy customer. :(

This is the Steam forums, not the Walmart forums, you need to complain to Walmart.

It's steams policy according to Walmart. They'll sell more than one card from other stores, but not steam. Walmart has been told by Steam to sell only one card per customer according to customer service. Unless Walmart customer service is lying. Maybe an actual steam employee could clarify.

you wont get a steam employee to reply on the forum. the only steam employees that post here are the forum moderators, and they only post why they are locking a thread.

It's not Valve's requirement.

It Wal-Mart's.

They don't even interact with each other. These cards are from a 3rd party company.

Doesn't really matter to me who's responsible, Steam, Walmart or a 3rd party company. The rule means no more steam card sales to me, if Steam cared about such sales, they'd look into the issue regardless of who made the call to limit sales to one card. As Wolf Knight said, we won't get a reply here and only a Steam employee that knows how this policy came to be can answer, posts making assumptions are useless.

Some Wal-Mart's, depending on where you live and especially during the holidays will enact a restriction on purchasing any goft cards to help prevent people from ransom scams and fraud.

I've seen this specific training video on how to spot customers that are potentially being ransomed by scammers on the net by purchasing multiple gifts cards. Its getting so bad, even YouTube has some of these types of commercials.

Crap like this...

Was my thought as well.
And as a real gift, you dont need such cards. A kid does not care if it gets a card or the equivalent as a promise.

Never had this problem here in Germany. Just yesterday i bought 3 x 20 Euro Steam Wallet cards at the local supermarket.
Nobody ever said anything about some " one per customer" restriction in all the years i buy them.

Was going to say the same. Whoever's telling this is Steam policy, needs to lay off the drugs.

Walmart problem, not Steam problem. Just buy a digital-code online and redeem. Fix your spelling.

We regularly have people - in the US - buy enough cards to purchase a Steam Deck...so...uhm...I guess this isn't a Valve policy.
I just bought 5 steam cards for 100 dollars a piece at the walmart here.

So the people at the walmart I went to are full of it. They just didn't want to admit to me that it's their own policy. Good to know.
