I get more fps on my 4k tv than my 2k monitor

So like the title says I get more fps on my 4k tv than on my 2k monitor.

For example: I get around 40-46 fps on Callisto Protocol on my gaming monitor, but I get easy 60 fps on my 4k tv?
Also on cyberpunk 2077 (which I know is not a very good optimized game) I get a lot more fps. I get around 35-40 fps on my monitor while I get easy 60 on my tv as well.

I have no idea why that is and what seems to be the issue and I hope someone can help me here! :)

My GPU is a 3070ti, my cpu is an AMD Ryzen 5700G and I got 32 gb ram.

What resolution do you exactly use on the monitor?

Just because you use a 4k TV does not mean you game at 4k.
That depends on the internal settings of the game.
Also many 4k TV do not support 1440p , they go from 1080p right to 4k.
So what most likely happens is that when you play on your 4k TV and your game is set to 2k for the gaming monitor, it switches down to 1080p internal resolution.
Which would also easily explain the performance gain.

Next time when you are on the 4k tv, make sure that the graphic settings inside the game are set to full 4k resolution. 3840 × 2160.
I doubt you will see the same better FPS numbers as before.

My monitor is set to 2560 x 1440 and my tv is set on 3840x2160 and I seriously still get more FPS on my TV than my monitor. I can also easily tell the difference between the 1080p and 4k pixels.

Any other suggestions? :)

I am only on a Ryzen 2600x and a RTX 2080 and i get easy 70+ FPS in 1440p in Cyberpunk on my monitor.
So you only getting like half that feels very strange with your stronger hardware.
Take a look in your monitor settings if something could explain the lower FPS.

BTW how do you connect your PC to your monitor/TV? Both HDMI?

Monitor is connected through display port cable and my tv is connected through HDMI 2.0 cable

He means is your GAME set to 4k in the game settings. Just connecting a game to a TV does not change the settings and switches to 4k by itself.
You have to go into the game settings and switch to 4k.
Did you do that? Because again, if you just connected it to the TV and started it then its much more likely that it downgraded to automatic 1080p since most 4k TV do not support 2k.

No no it's set to 3840x2160. I'm 100%. All my settings are always put manually at highest. If I don't put my settings to 3820x2160 it doesn't go fullscreen anyway. It just shows my game in 2560x1440 in a smaller box

Could be having a CPU bottleneck. I have that issue with my 7900xt and 2700x CPU. I get the same FPS at 1440p and 4k with only some small variations.

Same its a CPU bottleneck because at 1440 at Rdr2 I get between 150-185fps and 4k I get over 200 because I have a i5 12600k an 7900xtx but my I5 is also overclocked to 5.4 ghz

I have this issue with my i7 980X@4.5Ghz; better performance @4K than @1440p (but neither as good as 1080p)
