General Knowledge Needed
I would like to learn what games (first person shooters) here can be operated with a Logitech Extreme Joystick without modifying anything? I also use Win 10 Pro 64 bit.

I've already bought several games that don't use the Joystick. I just want to make sure, the next game I buy will be able to use it.

Thanks for the advice:)

By default? I'm pretty sure no game was made with a flight stick in mind. Ever.

Steam comes with an input mapper built in. I suggest getting any FPS supporting gamepads and map the input.

Zefar:

Mech Warrior, Quake and Halo were joystick controlled at one time - years ago. Not that it really matters, but I'm 73 and been using Computers for over 30 years now. These games I mentioned have been around that long. Maybe a little longer, who knows.

I currently have the Quake and Halo packs and none of them work with a joystick anymore. I'm not sure about Mech Warrior which I haven't purchased yet.

It's a lot easier to use a Joystick on most of these First Person Shooter Games too. I never did like the XBox Controller or keyboard control. And, I have the original XBox with tons of games and haven't used it in years.

The one thing that was bad about Quake, you got to make sure your video card is the best you can afford. The Game will lock up your system, screw it up so bad, you have to reinstall windows. I had that happen several times long ago.

You are partly right. The only one that works so far perfectly is Microsoft Flight Sim.

Cheers:)

PS: There's got to be a Mod Program to Map a Joystick. But, I haven't found one yet that works right and be reliable.

Quake should not "lock your system up".

Dakuwan;

This was a long time ago when this happened. I was new into Computers, didn't know much at that time. Probably caused by a over-powered program running on a under-powered Computer.

Mech Warrior isn't what I would call a FPS game. Depending on which version you're planning to buy a Joystick might work.

If you're talking about first Quake it was most likely not made with a flight stick in mind because back then such devices did not exist for PCs. Well not advance ones that came later. You might have the simple type but that's about it. Also the first version didn't start with mouse look either so you could get away with it.

Halo was made with a Gamepad in mind because it was for Console.

Joysticks/flight sticks where made for Plane simulators or chopper simulators games in mind. Not for FPS games.

A program to map keys to your joystick you can try Joy2Key or XPadder.
