Because if you play a game then data is streamed from the HDD in the background to load into the game. And downloading at the same time writes data to the HDD and at the same time unpacks files with the system Steam uses.
Its possible that your HDD just cant keep up with the simultaneous loading and writing of data and thus the download slows down because it cant write/unpack the files fast enough since the HDD is busy otherwise.
I'm using SSD and I have only a single drive in this laptop. Do I need to separate or create a virtual drive?
I see. So there's nothing to do about it? So it's just Wait and Play situation?
