DO NOT be logged in on any account
Follow the guide. If you can't enter details cause they've been changed, you don't remember or have access to them use the I don't have/known this data option or just enter random dskjfhksjdfh to continue
Hijacked not hacked. Hacking requires exploiting weakness in code. That doesn't happen on Steam. Hijacking is the issue and that's when users try logging on using a phishing website that steals their credentials. Recover and secure the account. Then stop using dodgy sites. Will let you decide if you feel he'd be better knowing and using the safer way to login on other sites or if telling him never to
If they insist on using third party sites do it the safe way
1. Open Web browser
2. Login on Steams Official page
3. Visit Third party site
4. Look for and use the one click login button
5. If 4 doesn't work and you're asked for you username, password and Guard code your on a phishing site. LEAVE and DO NOT use again
Can also use sites like scamadviser.com to check how trustworthy a site is before using it. Works for any site not just Steam related. Use it whenever entering login credentials or banking data
Recommend you remove the email address
in the process right now of trying to help him with screen share
There is no guarantee he simply won't take your money, laugh and go offline.
I am through team viewer right now. As I said the kid is mentally handicapped man he can't do these things on his own. I just want this person to be shamed.
Does your cousin still have access to his account or not?
No. He has no acess but a ticket has been submitted. The poor kid is sitting around waiting for a a reply. I just want this scammer brought to justice. He can try anyone else but kids with mental disabilities.
Pattern of scam:
Bait, story, steps
And never log into links or buttons.
